Our Story

We got tired of
performing online.

Rawly was built by people who believed social media could be different — and decided to build the proof.

Social media started as a way to share real moments with real people. Somewhere along the way, it became a performance. Filters. Editing apps. Carefully staged "candid" shots. A world where the most polished content wins — regardless of whether any of it actually happened.

Platforms optimized for engagement learned quickly that outrage, envy, and anxiety keep people scrolling longer than genuine connection does. So that's what they built for. The algorithm rewards what keeps you on the app, not what's true, interesting, or good for you.

Meanwhile, the people who built these platforms sold your data, your attention, and your behavioral patterns to the highest bidder — under US jurisdiction, with terms of service that give you no meaningful rights and no real recourse.

"We decided to build social media as if the users were the point — not the product."

Rawly starts from different principles. Every photo must be captured live, in the app, right now. No gallery uploads. No filters. No editing. If you post it on Rawly, it happened — and we can prove it. The dual-camera verification system isn't a marketing feature. It's infrastructure.

The reward system is built to align incentives between the platform and the people using it. When good content earns real value, the platform benefits from quality — not from maximizing your time on screen. When your votes actually matter to someone else's rewards, the community has a reason to vote honestly.

And because we're built in Estonia, under EU law, with EU servers and EU data rights — your data is protected by the strongest consumer privacy framework in the world, not by a terms-of-service paragraph in California that can change without notice.

We're in early beta. We're a small team. We're building something we actually want to use. We think that's where the best products come from.

What we won't compromise on.

01

Authenticity is enforced, not requested

We don't ask users to be authentic. We build systems that make inauthenticity structurally impossible — in-app camera enforcement, content verification, and a community that votes on what's real.

02

Privacy is architecture, not policy

End-to-end encryption, screenshot blocking, auto-deleting messages, EU data sovereignty — these are design decisions, not promises. They exist in the code, not just the privacy policy.

03

Incentives should be aligned

When the platform profits from your attention at any cost, the product becomes adversarial. Our reward system is our attempt to build a platform whose financial interests are aligned with quality, not engagement time.

04

Governance belongs to the community

Our community rank system gives long-term contributors real power — weighted votes, moderation tools, and a stake in how the platform evolves. The best users rise to Leader and Guardian status, shaping the platform's future directly.

05

No algorithm manipulation

Rawly does not boost content for dwell time, emotional arousal, or ad revenue. The feed ranks by community votes. That's it. We don't know how to make this more engaging — and we're not trying to.

06

EU law is a feature, not a footnote

Being incorporated in Estonia under EU law isn't a legal technicality. It's a deliberate choice to operate under the world's strongest data protection framework — and to mean it.
